Newcastle confirms place as biggest coal exporter

The port of Newcastle exported more than 90m tonnes of coal in 2008/09, confirming its position as the world's largest coal export harbour.
Port trade increased to almost 96m tonnes for the 12 months to June, with the value of the trade climbing $6bn to $17bn.
