EXPANSION of the Hunter coal industry is expected to give a huge boost to the port of Newcastle’s 2008/09 non-coal trade results.
While coal export volumes have been affected by diminished global demand, the coal industry remains committed to expansion.
That means port, rail and mine facilities will have to continue to grow even before stronger demand returns.
