Townsville port likes new-look housing block

PORT of Townsville has welcomed plans to relocate a planned residential waterfront complex near the port to at least 1 km from its seaward mineral loading berths.

The port authority and port users objected to the residential block’s original design as it could have led to complaints from residents about noise levels and odours from the port’s operations, Port of Townsville chief executive Barry Holden said.
