A REPUBLICAN Congressman has introduced a bill that proposes immunity to a US merchant mariner who wounds or kills a pirate in response to an attack.
If enacted into law, the US Mariner and Vessel Protection Act, introduced by Frank LoBiondo of New Jersey, would also direct the US to forge agreements to allow armed US merchant crews entry into foreign ports and the US Coast...
