Seafarer’s body in ship freed by pirates
SOMALI pirates shot dead a Ukrainian seafarer on board a general cargoship operated from the Netherlands, the country’s defence ministry has confirmed.
The body was discovered after the vessel was released on 22 June, apparently following payment of a ransom.
A second Ukrainian seafarer was reportedly injured, also from gunshot wounds. His condition is said to be stable.
