Market share bright spot in general gloom

HALF-YEAR results from the world’s top two logistics giants, Deutsche Post DHL and Kuehne+Nagel, continue to paint a no-growth picture for the full year 2009.

But, despite the gloom, the forwarders are winning market share, particularly in sea freight, with one analyst suggesting that deepsea lines may be the losers after cutting back on customer-service staff.
