Scrap yards feel pressure

CAPACITY at scrapping yards has reached around 80%, heightening concerns about whether there will be enough facilities to cope with the rising number of ships sold for demolition.

If recycling continues to rise, scrap prices could drop below US$200 per ldt, according to the world’s largest cash buyer Anil Sharma, founder and president of GMS.
