Turkish navy captures suspected pirates

TURKISH naval forces captured five suspected pirates in the Gulf of Aden today, after intervening during an attack on a still-to-be-identified vessel.

According to Brigadier General Metin Gurak, the operation was undertaken by commandos from the frigate Gediz, which is part of the Nato detachment in the region, with the assistance of a naval helicopter from a second Turkish frigate called Gaziantep.
