Newcastle pilots catch up after flu disruption

Port of Newcastle pilots worked hard to make up a shortfall over Monday night and early yesterday after illness left the port unable to service some ships at the weekend.

Three pilots were affected by 'flu, although not the swine flu virus, a port spokesman confirmed.

Under a revised roster, the remaining pilots moved 19 ships between 0800 on Monday and 0700 yesterday...
