ASA calls for speedy industry reform

The Australian Shipowners Association (ASA) today backed calls for a collaborative approach to domestic shipping industry reform but warned that rewriting the Navigation Act would need to be swift if it was not to become an impediment to other necessary reforms.

  

ASA executive director Teresa Hatch said federal transport minister Anthony Albanese's commitment to reform was welcome and that the ASA supported the message that industry-wide co-operation and support of government efforts was crucial to its success.
