Desperate times for lines as Asia-Europe rates head back down

Unless the slide in Asia-Europe freight rates can be reversed in coming weeks, some container lines face going out of business, according to industry sources.

Frantic efforts are now under way to raise westbound rates from Asia after April’s modest success proved short-lived, driving rates towards zero again.
