ExxonMobil fined another $1bn for oil spill
US oil group ExxonMobil has been ordered to pay a further US$1bn to those affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill, on top of the US$500m already paid.

A federal appeals court ordered ExxonMobil to pay
almost 6% interest on the US$507.5m punitive damages, backdated to 1996, and to pay its own legal costs of around US$70m.
