Petronas secures gas from Gladstone LNG hub
Malaysia's Petronas has sent the strongest signal yet of the viability of plans for a liquefied natural gas hub at Gladstone, signing a deal with Santos which could be worth up to $40bn at current prices.
The energy giant - which owns 40% of the $7.7bn Gladstone LNG project in a 40:60 arrangement with Santos - signed a binding heads of agreement for 2m tonnes a year with the option of another 1m tonnes.
