US$9m Kaohsiung rort alleged: 46 indicted
Shipping lines and officials from Taiwan’s port of Kaohsiung have denied wrongdoing after 46 executives were indicted last week on corruption charges which allege container volumes were inflated to meet bonus targets.

Among those indicted by the Kaohsiung prosecutor’s office were Kaohsiung Harbour Bureau director-general Hsieh Minghui and officials from eight shipping lines.
The lines included Yang Ming Line, Evergreen Marine, Wan Hai Lines, Neptune Orient Lines and NYK Logistics.
