Port Hedland sets shiploading record

Port Hedland has notched up a ship handling record which indicates that Australian iron ore exports are is a healthy state.

Port Hedland Port Authority (PHPA) managed the departure of five capesize bulk carriers – four for BHP Billiton Iron Ore and one for Fortescue Metals – on the morning high tide last Friday, it said today
The combined total cargo was 841,062 tonnes.
The previous record was a combined total of 657,029 tonnes in 2005.
