Economou says dry bulk orders ‘a bloodbath’

UP TO 50% of the dry bulk newbuilding orderbook will be cancelled or suffer delivery delays in the next three years, according to DryShips chairman and chief executive George Economou.

South Korean yards will be hit hardest by cancellations and delays compared with shipbuilders in other Asian countries such as China, where some yards have the potential to assist cashstrapped owners.
