Classic Maritime takes two Fortescue relets

GEORGE Economou’s Classic Maritime has chartered two capesize vessels from Fortescue Metals Group.

The deal emerged two weeks after Classic Maritime settled a legal battle with Australia’s third-largest iron ore producer over defaults on three shipping contracts. The Monaco-based capesize operator took two relets from Fortescue this month, according to the Baltic Exchange....
