Petronas secures gas from Gladstone hub
MALAYSIA’S Petronas has sent the strongest signal yet of the viability of plans for a liquefied natural gas hub at Gladstone, signing a deal with Santos that could be worth up to $40bn at current prices.
The energy giant – which owns 40% of the $7.7bn Gladstone LNG project in a 40:60 arrangement with Santos – signed a binding heads of agreement for 2m tonnes a year with the option of another 1m tonnes.
