Rio Tinto appoints du Plessis as chairman

Mining giant Rio Tinto has named British American Tobacco's Jan du Plessis its new chairman.

The British American Tobacco chairman will take over from Paul Skinner at Rio on April 20, the mining company said in a statement today.
