Brussels urged not to ditch rail plan

Proposals for a Europe-wide rail freight network are running out of steam, despite sustained industry lobbying ahead of a key vote in Brussels at the end of this month.

Shippers, freight forwarders and independent train operators are among a coalition of logistics interests urging MEPs at the European Parliament's transport committee on March 31 to support and strengthen the European Commission's regulation on a rail network for competitive freight....
