Singapore containers down 20%

Box volumes at Singapore, the world's largest container port, have plunged 20% since February 2008.

The top global transhipment hub handled 1.9m teu in February, down 19.8% compared with the same month last year, according to figures released by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore.
