Protest halts port work

Anti-coal industry protesters blocked ships from entering and departing the port of Newcastle on Saturday.
The Newcastle Port Corporation closed the channel and police watched as several hundred people floated on canoes, surfboards and rafts at the entrance to the port.
Port movements were cancelled for most of the day and no arrests were made.
