Airfreight imports climb back above exports

Australia imported more airfreight than it exported in February, according to the latest figures released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE).

Bureau figures showed that 27,073 tonnes of airfreight was imported in February compared with 26,984 tonnes of exported goods.

The total figure was a 12.5% decline to 54,057 tonnes from the 61,782 tonnes imported and exported in February 2008.
