Mast waits on Bridport incident report

by Rob McKay last modified May 20, 2009 12:28 PM

Maritime and Safety Tasmania (Mast) was today awaiting an incident report from Southern Shipping after a front-end loader fell into the water in Bridport.

The incident occurred on Monday evening when Flinders Island logs were being unloaded from the Southern Condor.

Mast commercial vessel survey manager Gwyn Alway said he had been to the scene to see if there had been any damage to the Bridport ramp and to gauge if the ramp was strong enough to take the strain of increased trade through the port that the logs represent.
