Shanghai box trade fall

Shanghai ranks second to the port of Singapore on the list of the world's largest container ports.

Monthly throughput dropped 10% to under 2.2m teu in March on the back of a 15% slide in January and February.

The group's net profit fell almost 28% to Yuan733.8m (US$107m) in the first quarter.

The group's president, Chen Xuyuan, has not indicated whether the throughput target will be revised down.
