Mariana ramps up express service

by Sineva Toevai last modified May 27, 2009 12:04 PM

Mariana Express Lines has added more resources to its KTX Express Shuttle service between northern Australia and Asia.

The group will increase the frequency of the service with fortnightly sailings, direct calls to Shanghai and Darwin, and a second vessel, the Mell Senang.

The upgrade will provide more “opportunities for importers and exporters,” the company said.

The new routing will include direct calls to the Townsville, Kaohsiung, Shanghai and Darwin ports.

Transhipments to north and south east Asia and Japan/Korea will be offered via Kaohsiung and Shanghai linking in with Mariana’s Asia network.

Mariana will also accept LCL cargoes from Shanghai, Taiwan and Hong Kong to Darwin and Townsville.

Mariana Express launched its new service between Kaohsiung and Townsville earlier this year and established its own agency in Australia with offices in Sydney and Townsville and representation in Melbourne.
