Health forces Sorensen to quit Maersk

Mr Sorensen will leave the group on May 31 after almost three years as chief financial officer.
He said that for some time the heavy workload had been damaging to his health.
Maersk chairman of the board Michael Pram Rasmussen stressed that Mr Sorensen’s decision was a personal one and praised his contribution to the group.
This sentiment was echoed by chief executive Nils Smedegaard Andersen, who said that, with “his comprehensive knowledge and professional competencies”, Mr Sorensen had “immaculately performed the position as group chief financial officer”.
Mr Andersen said Moller-Maersk would “make temporary, internal changes of the organisation in order to cover Mr Sorensen’s areas of responsibility until we find a permanent solution”.
