Finalists have been named from a strong field of nominations for the Lloyd's List DCN Australian Shipping and Transport Awards, to be held in Sydney on November 26.
The 2008 award winners
Now in its 14th year, the awards evening will this year recognise a broader range of entrants across an expanded list of categories, which includes the New Generation, Seafarers Welfare and Maritime Services awards.
A number of entrants have been named as finalists in multiple categories.
Finalists in the highly-prized Port or Terminal of the Year category are Darwin Port Corporation, GeelongPort, Port of Brisbane Corporation and Tasports.
The night will also include the naming of the newest inductee into the Trade and Transport Hall of Fame as well as recognition of the Newsmaker of the Year.
This year's awards saw a particularly strong field of entries across all categories with the shipping and transport industry eager to draw attention to the exceptional achievement and innovation in areas such as environmental protection, health and safety, training and education, security and logistics.
