ACCC initial support for Virgin-Delta on US route

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has indicated its support for the joint venture between Virgin Blue and Delta Air Lines to operate between Australia and the US.

The competition regulator issued a draft determination proposing to grant clearance for the two airlines to fly the trans-Pacific routes for a three-year period.

Authorisation provides immunity from court action for conduct that might otherwise be deemed to be anti-competitive.
