ARTC signals work to boost Hunter rail reliability

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has commissioned Ansaldo STS to complete signalling work between Maitland and Branxton in the New South Wales Hunter Valley.

The $14m project follows earlier work costing $31m to increase flexibility along the same section, allowing bi-directional signalling.

The ARTC said the latest contract would increase reliability of coal and passenger services and reduce maintenance disruptions.
