Too rough for LNG Pioneer to be closer to sinking boat
The liquefied natural gas carrier involved in an Indian Ocean rescue on Sunday was less than a mile from a boat of suspected asylum seekers when their vessel sank.
The managers of the LNG Pioneer, MOLNG Transport Europe, said its ship's Croation master had responded to calls from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority to assist those on the boat.
