PNG signs $15bn LNG deal with China
Energy companies in Papua New Guinea will start shipping liquefied natural gas to China from the end of 2013, after an agreement was signed with China Petroleum Chemical Corp (Sinopec).
The partners in the first LNG project in the country will build a $15bn export plant over the next four years to ship 55 cargoes annually.
About a third of these will be headed for Sinopec’s import facilities.
