Maersk looks to re-join TSA as Asia-US trade plummets

Losses have soared to such alarming proportions on the Asia and the US container trades that Maersk Line has asked to rejoin the Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement in order to contribute to the search for an industry-wide solution to the deepening crisis.

The Pacific has ousted the Asia-Europe trades as the basket case of container shipping, with no sign of the modest rise in freight rates that carriers have managed to squeeze out of shippers on cargo moving westbound from the East...
