Newcastle pilots, port corp set for arbitration

The Newcastle Port Corporation and its marine pilots have applied for salary consent arbitration in an effort to settle a year-long pay row which has threatened to disrupt operations at the world’s biggest coal export port.

A spokesman for the port corporation said a submission had been made to Fair Work Australia last week for a hearing.
