Human factors main cause of vessel incidents
Human factors are the leading cause of commercial vessel accidents, the National Marine Safety Committee's (NMSC) first Commercial Vessel Incident Analysis Report has found.

The report, released yesterday, covered the period 2005-2008 and found that 2760 commercial vessel marine incidents occurred in Australia during the period resulting in 47 fatalities (1.8%) and 783 injuries (28.4%) – including 173 serious injuries.
