by Lloyd's List DCN last modified Nov 26, 2009 12:25 PM

More than 350 people will attend the 14th annual Lloyd's List DCN Australian Shipping and Transport Awards in Sydney tonight.

Fourteen awards will be presented, including the naming of the Australian Port or Terminal of the Year, the Newsmaker of the Year and the announcement of the latest inductee into the Australian Trade and Transport Hall of Fame.

The awards will recognise excellence across categories which include liner shipping reliability, green transport, safety, security, logistics, forwarding, training and education.

Three new awards will be presented to recognise the industry's contribution to the welfare of seafarers, the emerging young generation of industry players and those who provide other specialised services to the maritime sector.

The awards dinner will be held at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney.
