MUA targets offshore support operators

Talks between offshore energy support firm Farstad Shipping and the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) have hit a hurdle after a week's moratorium, with a one-day strike scheduled over next weekend, the union confirmed today.

The MUA had shelved industrial action last week to allow talks with Farstad, which is being backed by the Australian Shipowners Association and the Australian Mines and Metals Association.
