A PARAMEDIC and an Australian Helicopters crewman both suffered multiple injuries when they fell to the deck of the 4112 teu Maersk Duffield on Monday afternoon.
The Torres Strait incident occurred when a winch malfunctioned aboard the helicopter as the men prepared to board the ship to treat a seafarer suffering cardiac problems, an Australian Maritime Safety Authority spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
