Containership sales up as prices drop
CONTAINERSHIP sale and purchase activity picked up in the third quarter after stalling earlier this year as the freight and charter markets collapsed.
Secondhand prices, however, continue to slide. Clarkson Research Services reported in its Container Intelligence Quarterly that 39 ships, averaging 1,471 teu each and totalling 57,362 teu, changed hands in the latest three-month period.
