State aid harms market – Andersen

STATE aid for container lines will encourage illogical behaviour in the freight markets and postpone industry consolidation, AP Moller-Maersk chief executive Nils Andersen warned.

The group does not plan to lodge any formal objections with Brussels, which has to approve state aid packages for European shipowners, he told Lloyd’s List. But the Danish company continues to speak out about the problems that government bail-outs...
