Pilots await court ruling
THE NEWCASTLE Port Corporation and its marine pilots have applied for salary consent arbitration in a bid to settle a year-long pay dispute which has threatened to halt operations at the world’s largest coal port.
A spokesman for the port corporation said a submission had been made to Fair Work Australia last week for a hearing.
The workplace relations tribunal had not announced a decision as Lloyd’s List DCN went to press.
