Refrigerated container volumes dropped 2.5%
REFRIGERATED cargo is weathering the container shipping slump far better than dry freight, with volumes only marginally down on the year in most major trade lanes, in contrast to the collapse in demand felt elsewhere in the market.
Figures produced by a US consultancy in collaboration with a new firm set up by group of former container shipping executives show that containerised reefer volumes on three major routes were down by only 2.5% in the first seven months...
