EUROPEAN Commission efforts to persuade other jurisdictions to ban conferences are making little headway, leaving shipping lines that operate in a global market to contend with a glut of regulations.
That point was raised in a speech by European Liner Affairs Association (ELAA) executive director Chris Bourne, who said the regulatory situation remained in flux.
“Such uncertainty would clearly not be good for any industry,” he said.
