International airfreight decline rate slowing

Demand for airfreight globally declined again in August although not quite to the same extent as the slump recorded in July.

The latest International Air Transport Association (IATA) figures showed airfreight demand in August dropping 9.6% from July, when it posted an 11.3% fall, IATA said. 

The August figures were also 16% below  April 2008 when the decline in demand began.
