New South Wales artist Don Talintyre has won the top award at the ANL Maritime Art Prize which was announced last night at the Missions to Seafarers centre in Melbourne.
Mr Talintyre has been a long-term entrant in the competition and although he has previously won the "people's choice" award, this is the first time he has claimed the major prize.
His offering, Fury Of The Sea, gained him $15,000 in the contest which attracted 179 paintings, 120 of which were hung for last night's award ceremony.
