WA's grain harvest may fall short of 2008/09

The 2009/10 grain harvest in Western Australia began today but CBH Group says the state might find it difficult to match last season's crop.

"I think we'll struggle to beat last season's 12.3m tonne crop as growers in the Kwinana East, Albany and Esperance regions have not received the follow-up rains they needed in the lead-up to harvest," CBH Group operations manager Colin Tutt...
