Flinders Island relief ship docks, legal fight in offing

Some limited cooperation returned to the Flinders Island freight service yesterday, as the relief ship, Statesman, was allowed to dock with much-needed fresh food supplies.

Agreement between the Tasmanian Ports Corporation, state government regulator Marine and Safety Tasmania and Southern Shipping director Geoffrey Gabriel allowed the strike-bound Matthew Flinders III to be moved from its berth by its masterless crew.
