T&L climate toughest VTA boss has seen

The placing of Melbourne firm Mannway Logistics into voluntary receivership demonstrated the difficulties the transport and logistics sector was enduring, Victorian Transport Association (VTA) chief executive Phil Lovel said yesterday.

Despite operators such as Toll and Asciano having a motivation to be talking the market up, "it's not all rosey", Mr Lovel said, with many companies simply "riding through as best they can".
