Mixed result for BHP in shipbroking case

BHP Billiton Freight has won a Federal Court case against Cosco Oceania Chartering in a finding that centres on the relationship between shipbrokers and their clients.

Cosco had mistakenly believed that it was acting for New Century International Leasing Corp (NCI) through a third party, known only as "Jacky", via email in relation to the bulk carrier Global Hawk.
