Chinese ports reveal a volume recovery

VOLUME throughput figures at China’s top container ports are suggesting the first signs of a recovery.
The 10 largest Chinese box ports handled a combined 8.8m teu in August, only 3.3% below the figure for August 2008. This is the lowest monthly decline since the start of the crisis, latest Alphaliner figures show.
